The Sales Director is responsible for achieving sales outcomes aligned with revenue growth objectives through effective leadership and management of a team of enterprise Account Executives. By leveraging their influence, the Sales Director plays a pivotal role in guiding sales professionals to pinpoint and capitalize on lucrative opportunities, ensuring timely follow-ups, and providing an exceptional customer experience.

As a key representative who engages with clients, the Sales Director must consistently demonstrate excellence by communicating assertively to shape outcomes both within the organization and with external stakeholders.

This position will oversee a team dedicated to large enterprise customer accounts throughout the DACH region.

Key Responsibilities

Formulate individualized coaching plans and conduct regular performance discussions with each team member to provide constructive feedback and identify areas for enhancement. Inspire and cultivate a growth-oriented mindset within the team. Identify and onboard high-performing sales talent while managing performance-related issues. Evaluate and prioritize account territories for the team. Create and maintain precise sales forecasts, regularly reviewing and adjusting sales strategies as necessary. Utilize data analytics to track performance and recognize trends or areas needing improvement. Develop sales strategies and tactics that align with organizational objectives and customer requirements. Monitor seller outreach, deal pipeline, and deal quality to ensure optimal performance. Foster strong relationships with internal teams and leadership to promote cross-organizational success. Build connections with external clients, prospects, and partners to support the go-to-market strategy. Promote cross-functional collaboration to ensure the sales team has the necessary support and resources for success. Encourage a culture of teamwork and collaboration within the sales team to facilitate knowledge sharing and best practices. Advocate for open communication and feedback to ensure all team members feel valued and to address any concerns.

Required Qualifications

A minimum of 8 years of experience in a relevant role, particularly in enterprise technology or complex solution sales. At least 3 years of progressive experience in sales management, ideally within software or technology sectors. An undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Proficiency in both English and German.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with the Software as a Service (SaaS) business model. A proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas in the field of complex technology or software solutions. Capability to provide deal support and guidance to sales representatives for both large enterprise and mid-market accounts. Experience in managing and coaching a diverse team of sales professionals. Exceptional communication skills and business acumen. Executive presence with the ability to engage at the highest levels of the organization. Skill in identifying and understanding the influence of various stakeholders during the sales process. Ability to lead a team in managing multiple complex sales cycles concurrently. Competence in negotiating pricing while maintaining value.

Travel and Working Conditions

Willingness to travel up to 30% for customer meetings and events. Reliable internet access is required for remote work.
