Internship in Wireless Communication Engineering

We are excited to offer an Internship in Wireless Communications Engineering within our innovative team. This role provides a unique opportunity to engage with the complexities of next-generation mobile networks, focusing on critical aspects such as signal quality, sensitivity, and dynamic switching performance.

As an intern, you will immerse yourself in either our product development or research divisions, contributing to impactful projects. We present a diverse array of tasks tailored to your skills and interests:

Research Responsibilities:

  • Development of prototypes for 6G wireless systems utilizing Machine Learning methodologies.
  • Creation of distributed test and measurement applications leveraging cloud technologies.

Product Development Responsibilities:

  • Development of drivers for our Software Defined Radios (USRPs).
  • Creation of tests aligned with the 3GPP 5G NR mobile radio standard.
  • RF measurement development for hardware components.
  • Support for board-level hardware development for RF products.
  • Prototype toolflow for augmented reality-assisted hardware board debugging.
  • HDL design related to communication or radar applications.

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled student (m/f/x) in Electrical Engineering, Information System Technology, or Computer Science.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language: Python, C / C++ / C# / .NET, SystemVerilog, or VHDL.
  • Fundamental understanding of digital signal processing (e.g., OFDM) or RF engineering (RF parameters and/or measurements) or client/server and web technologies.
  • Enthusiasm for hands-on experimentation and prototyping.
  • Willingness to learn new concepts.
  • Proficient in English.
  • Availability for a compulsory internship lasting ideally 6 months.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of Linux and command line interfaces.
  • Experience with Software Defined Radios, UHD, and GNU Radio.
  • Introductory knowledge of Machine Learning.
  • Familiarity with Git version control.
  • Practical experience with measuring instruments (e.g., Signal Analyzer, Oscilloscope).
  • Experience in developing designs on FPGA / CPLD.
