Position Overview

A Regulatory Compliance Lead based in Germany (or Luxembourg) will enhance the compliance framework of GLL's Real Estate operations, providing guidance and oversight on compliance obligations for businesses across EMEA and beyond. This role will primarily support a German real estate Alternative Investment Fund Manager and a Luxembourg Management Company, offering a broad scope of responsibilities that emphasize the development and execution of compliance monitoring strategies and the generation of regular reports. This position is vital in fostering collaboration and uniformity among our regional teams while enhancing our compliance control framework.

Your Responsibilities

In this capacity, you will serve as the Deputy Compliance Officer and Deputy Money Laundering Reporting Officer in Germany, alongside fulfilling the role of 'Person responsible for the permanent compliance function' and Compliance Officer in Luxembourg. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing and executing a comprehensive compliance risk assessment and monitoring strategy, which encompasses Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing measures.
  • Overseeing the daily operations of GLL's regulatory compliance program, including the preparation of compliance reports for regulatory bodies.
  • Staying informed about new and revised regulations and directives relevant to the business, facilitating necessary adjustments.
  • Assisting in the delivery of a tailored on-site compliance training program, which will require you to cultivate strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
What You Bring

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 4 years of compliance experience within the asset management sector, ideally with a focus on real estate management or within a legal, regulatory, or consultancy context.
  • In-depth knowledge of the regulatory frameworks in Germany and Luxembourg pertaining to asset management, demonstrating a solid understanding of both Alternative Investment Fund Managers' and Markets in Financial Instruments' directives.
  • Fluency in English and German (both spoken and written) is essential; proficiency in Luxembourgish or French is a plus.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive attitude, strong motivation, and the ability to work independently while managing priorities and meeting deadlines.
