Automotive Climate Control Engineer

Position Overview:
Sanden International (Europe) GmbH is seeking a Automotive Climate Control Engineer (f/m/d). As a professional fluent in Mandarin, you will be responsible for developing cutting-edge automotive climate control systems tailored to meet client requirements. Leverage your engineering expertise to transform concepts into reality while collaborating with a diverse international team to design and enhance climate control systems, components, and frameworks, playing a vital role in the advancement of automotive technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct the engineering of automotive climate control systems in accordance with client specifications, including delegating tasks related to design, analysis, construction, and simulation to fellow engineers.
- Examine and interpret client specifications to formulate internal guidelines for climate control systems. Suggest innovative design solutions based on comprehensive assessments, such as part standardization and value analysis.
- Assist and mentor CAD designers throughout the development and enhancement of new designs.
- Establish standards and provide guidance for the creation of 2D schematics.
- Supervise the CAD/CAE/drawing release workflow within PLM systems for both production and client distribution.
- Monitor testing requests, communicate testing requirements to external partners and internal testing teams, and assess their reports to fulfill development validation plan (DVP) criteria.
- Engage with suppliers by developing, organizing, and validating the Supplier Compliance Matrix. Review their DVP outcomes and recommend modifications to enhance the design, functionality, and performance of climate control sub-components.
- Collaborate with other engineering divisions and global cross-functional teams.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to quality standards by collaborating with the Quality department on climate control design failure mode and effects analysis (DFMEA) creation and upkeep.
- Guarantee compliance with the company's quality management system (QMS) guidelines by identifying improvement opportunities to support organizational objectives.
- Provide technical support to the manufacturing team regarding design for assembly (DFA), process layout, and process failure mode and effects analysis (PFMEA) development.
- Maintain client relationships through the creation of technical presentations.
- Coordinate design information with prototype suppliers to ensure that prototype components align with company standards.
- Work in conjunction with the Supply Chain department and other global cross-functional teams.
Manage product data by systematically saving, organizing, and releasing it within the PLM framework.
Qualifications:
Required Experience and Education:
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in climate control product design and development.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Essential Skills:
- Proficient in spoken and written Mandarin and English, enabling clear communication of ideas and complex information.
- Professional design experience with CATIA V5 or similar CAD software (e.g., Siemens NX).
- Solid understanding of thermodynamics and knowledge of climate control systems.
- Basic comprehension and interpretation of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis.
- Familiarity with automotive development standards such as advanced product quality planning (APQP), DVP&R, DFMEA, and PFMEA, as well as geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) standards.
- Creative problem-solving abilities to identify root causes and devise effective strategies.
- Capability to cultivate and maintain beneficial relationships.
- Self-awareness regarding performance and behavior.
- Ability to adapt swiftly to a dynamic environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) analysis techniques to address acoustic and vibrational challenges in mechanical designs.
- Project management skills to achieve client and internal project milestones.
Certification in relevant CAD/CAM software or finite element analysis (FEA) tools is advantageous.
