Position Overview
Sanden International (Europe) GmbH is seeking a Automotive Climate Control Engineer (f/m/d). In this role, you will leverage your Mandarin language skills to develop cutting-edge automotive HVAC systems tailored to client requirements. Your technical expertise will be crucial in collaborating with a diverse international team to design and enhance HVAC systems, components, and structures, thereby contributing to advancements in automotive technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct the design process of automotive HVAC systems according to client specifications, delegating tasks such as design, calculations, construction, and simulations to fellow engineers.
- Assess and interpret client specifications to formulate internal guidelines for HVAC systems, proposing innovative design solutions through comprehensive evaluations, including part commonization and value analysis.
- Support and mentor CAD designers throughout the development and enhancement of new designs.
- Establish standards and provide guidance for the creation of 2D drawings.
- Manage the CAD/CAE/drawing release process within PLM systems for both manufacturing and client distribution.
- Monitor test requests, provide testing criteria to external partners and internal teams, and analyze their reports to ensure compliance with development validation plan requirements.
- Engage with suppliers by creating and validating the Supplier Compliance Matrix, reviewing their development validation plan results, and recommending design improvements for HVAC sub-components.
- Collaborate with various engineering departments and global cross-functional teams.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards by collaborating with the Quality department on HVAC Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) creation and maintenance.
- Promote compliance with the company's Quality Management System (QMS) guidelines by identifying improvement opportunities.
- Assist the manufacturing team as a technical liaison for Design for Assembly (DFA), process layout, and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) creation.
- Maintain client relationships through the development of technical presentations.
- Coordinate design information with prototype suppliers to ensure compliance with Sanden standards.
- Work in conjunction with the Supply Chain department and other global cross-functional teams.
Qualifications:
Required Experience and Education:
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in HVAC product design and development.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Proficient in spoken and written Mandarin and English for effective communication of complex ideas.
- Professional experience with CATIA V5 or equivalent CAD software.
- Solid understanding of thermodynamics and HVAC systems.
- Basic knowledge of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis.
- Familiarity with automotive development standards such as Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Development Validation Plan and Report (DVP&R), DFMEA, PFMEA, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards.
- Creative problem-solving abilities to identify root causes and devise effective solutions.
- Capability to foster and maintain productive relationships.
