About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Design Engineer to join our team at Sanden International (Europe) GmbH. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative automotive HVAC systems that meet customer needs.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead Design and Development: Lead the design of automotive HVAC systems based on customer specifications, including assigning tasks to other engineers and ensuring timely completion.
  2. Specification Analysis and Evaluation: Analyze and evaluate customer specifications to establish internal specifications for HVAC systems, proposing innovative design concepts based on thorough evaluations.
  3. Design Support and Guidance: Provide support and guidance to CAD designers during new design development and improvement processes, ensuring adherence to company standards.
  4. Standard Setting and Direction: Set standards and provide direction for creating 2D drawings, ensuring consistency and quality.
  5. Release Process Oversight: Oversee the CAD/CAE/drawing release process in PLM systems, ensuring seamless collaboration with manufacturing and customer teams.
  6. Test Request and Evaluation: Track test requests, provide test requirements to external partners, and evaluate their reports to meet DVP requirements.
  7. Supplier Interface and Compliance: Interface with suppliers by creating, organizing, and validating the Supplier Compliance Matrix, reviewing their DVP results, and determining changes to improve design, functionality, and performance.
  8. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with other engineering departments and global cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication and project delivery.
Additional Responsibilities
  1. Quality Standards and Compliance: Ensure quality standards are met by working with the Quality department on HVAC DFMEA creation and maintenance, ensuring compliance with company QMS guidelines.
  2. Process Improvement and Support: Support the manufacturing team as a technical interface for DFA, process layout, and PFMEA creation, ensuring efficient production processes.
  3. Customer Relationship Management: Maintain customer relationships by creating technical presentations, ensuring effective communication and project delivery.
  4. Design Information Coordination: Coordinate design information with prototype suppliers to ensure prototype parts meet Sanden standards.
  5. Supply Chain Collaboration: Cooperate with the Supply Chain department and other global cross-functional teams to ensure seamless collaboration and project delivery.
Qualifications and Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in HVAC product design and development.
  • Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.

You will also need:

  • Strong command of spoken and written Mandarin and English, allowing for clear articulation of ideas and complex information.
  • Professional design experience with CATIA V5 or equivalent CAD software.
  • Good understanding of thermodynamics and knowledge in HVAC systems.
  • Basic understanding and interpretation of CFD analysis.
  • Familiarity with automotive development standards such as APQP, DVP&R, DFMEA, and PFMEA, as well as GD&T standards.
  • Creative problem-solving skills to identify root causes and develop effective strategies to address them.
  • Ability to build and nurture beneficial relationships.
  • Self-awareness of performance and behavior.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to a fast-changing environment.
