Data Center Operations Technician

About the Role

The Data Center Operations Technician will be responsible for delivering best practice systems and resolving complex technical problems on all data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure within a specific location.

Key Responsibilities
  • Infrastructure Management: Ensure the highest standards for safety and actively promote a world-class safety culture in all aspects of operational procedure.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement efforts on infrastructure through standardization of procedures and policies, while delivering performance against agreed metrics.
  • Uptime and Reliability: Enable the operations organization to deliver 100% uptime on all customer-supporting infrastructure.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver operational excellence for all customers.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Ensure that the preventive maintenance of site-critical facility infrastructure is planned and executed to the highest standards, in accordance with company procedures.
  • Facility Monitoring: In charge of facility monitoring and supervision via Building Management Systems (BMS) and Performance Management Systems (PMS).
  • Project Delivery: Participate in the successful delivery of build-out and retrofit of Data Center infrastructure.
  • Incident Response: Ensure organizational capability to react and respond appropriately to any potential customer-impacting event on any component of electrical or mechanical infrastructure.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Review incident reports, document periodic trend summaries, and provide updates and recommended actions to management.
Requirements
  • Education: High school or equivalent diploma.
  • Electrical Competencies: Knowledge of key electrical competencies and theory.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience: Experience in data center engineering.
  • Mechanical Systems: Knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC systems and controls.
