Role Summary
As the Engineering Manager for Payments, you will oversee a team responsible for developing tools and services that enable efficient and scalable payment solutions for our customers. By gaining a comprehensive understanding of our customer base, you will be able to customize our payment strategies to align with their preferences. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with our payments business operations to ensure they are equipped with user-friendly integrations that reflect our customers' preferred payment methods. These capabilities are vital to our growth strategy at HelloFresh and play a crucial role in our mission to transform the way people experience food.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a diverse team of engineers (Backend, Mobile, Web) while ensuring the successful delivery of new products and ongoing enhancements to your team's technical landscape.
- Drive architectural and design choices within the team, emphasizing high-quality standards, engineering best practices, and operational excellence.
- Foster close collaboration and joint decision-making among various engineering teams and stakeholders, particularly product leads.
- Actively participate in the leadership team, aiming to cultivate and evolve a culture of collaboration and mutual support.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an engineering leader with a strong grasp of your domain.
- Ability to contribute to system design processes utilizing event-driven architecture; familiarity with domain-driven design is advantageous.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams (5-10 engineers) in accordance with agile methodologies.
- Solid understanding and practical knowledge of developing scalable software products based on microservice architectures.
- Strong communication skills, characterized by empathy and active listening.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in problem-solving and removing obstacles to progress.
