Cyber Security Expert for Industrial Automation

As a Security Architect at Festo, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding the factory of the future from cyber threats.

Your Responsibilities:
- Analyze security threats and risks for existing and new products, proposing changes to their architecture throughout the product lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain security concepts, deriving requirements for embedded systems with a focus on security in industrial communication systems and automation systems.
- Perform specification and code reviews.
- Collaborate with product management and system architects to enhance the security features of new concepts and support project teams in implementing security-specific topics.
- Communicate with the Product Security Officer, security experts, and decision-makers, as well as external service providers and consultants.
- Work with the Product Security Incident Response Team (PSIRT) to identify, document, and address vulnerabilities.
- Raise employee awareness about security compliance through training, consulting, and fostering a culture of security within the team.
Your Qualifications:
- Completed studies in computer science, information security, electrical engineering, or a comparable qualification.
- A high affinity for cyber security and a desire to learn more in this area; optional specialization and certifications in the field of cyber security, including advanced knowledge of the Security Development Lifecycle and requirements (IEC-4-1 and IEC-4-2).
- Experience in modeling data flow diagrams and performing threat and risk analysis; experience with penetration testing would also be an advantage.
- A high awareness of software quality and testability; preferably also proven experience in creating secure embedded software for real-time applications in object-oriented C++.
- Optional basic knowledge of common industrial communication solutions such as EtherCAT, PROFINET, and EtherNet/IP.
- Very good communication skills in German and English.
- A high level of initiative, strong communication and presentation skills, and enjoyment of working in international teams.
