Your Mission

As a Senior Airborne Electronics Hardware Engineer at VÆRIDION, you will be a key member of the R&D team within the Technology division. Your primary responsibility will be to innovate and develop electronic hardware solutions for the propulsion battery management and power distribution systems of our all-electric aircraft. This position demands a comprehensive understanding of avionics and electronic systems, along with the capability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team. Your work will be crucial in ensuring the safety, reliability, and performance of the High Voltage Electrical Power System that underpins VÆRIDION's cutting-edge propulsion technology.

Your Daily Responsibilities:

  • Design and create electronic hardware for propulsion battery and power distribution, advancing from prototypes to certified systems, encompassing both analogue and digital circuit design.
  • Establish airborne electronics hardware development methodologies and toolchains that adhere to aviation standards and regulations.
  • Execute schematic capture, PCB layout, and component selection to fulfill project specifications and regulatory mandates.
  • Conduct simulations and analyses to validate system performance and reliability across various environmental conditions.
  • Develop and implement test plans for hardware validation, covering functional, environmental, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) assessments.
  • Collaborate with software, mechanical, and systems engineers to ensure the harmonious integration of hardware components.
  • Engage in design reviews, offering technical insights and ensuring adherence to industry standards.
  • Create comprehensive documentation, including design specifications, testing procedures, and technical reports.
  • Assist manufacturing and testing teams in troubleshooting and resolving hardware-related challenges.
  • Stay abreast of advancements in electronics and avionics technologies, integrating new methodologies and components into your designs.
Your Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in electronic hardware design, ideally within the aerospace or defense sectors.
  • Proficient in electronic design automation (EDA) tools such as Altium Designer, Cadence, or Mentor Graphics.
  • Experience with embedded systems and microcontroller-based designs.
  • Familiarity with battery management systems, electric propulsion, power electronics, or related areas is highly advantageous.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations, including DO-254, MIL-STD-461, and RTCA/DO-160 is beneficial.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and capacity to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work effectively in a team-oriented setting while managing multiple projects concurrently.
  • Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in German or other languages is a plus.
