The Riverside Company is a prominent global private equity firm specializing in investments in growing medium-sized businesses. Established in 1988, Riverside has successfully completed over 1,000 transactions, with its current international portfolio comprising more than 140 companies.

Focusing on the middle market, Riverside typically engages with enterprises valued up to €250 million. The firm operates from 16 offices across North America, Europe, and Australia, employing over 300 local professionals who speak more than two dozen languages. Riverside's proactive investment strategy is designed to foster growth within its portfolio companies, partnering with strong management teams to enhance their fundamental performance and scale.

In Europe, Riverside's operations are centered around six key offices, with a dedicated team of approximately 30 investment, origination, and operating professionals. The firm is currently investing from its seventh European vintage and manages over €13 billion in assets. There is a robust deal flow across its target regions in Europe, focusing on four industry sectors: Software & Technology, Consumer Products, Healthcare, and Sustainable Manufacturing & Distribution.

Job Description
The Associate plays a vital role in transaction execution and oversight of portfolio companies. Responsibilities encompass all facets of the investment process, including deal origination, financial modeling, due diligence, execution, portfolio management, and exit strategies. The Associate is integral to the team, providing support across all aspects of deal execution and portfolio company management.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Conducting comprehensive industry and deal-specific research;

• Preparing detailed memoranda for investment committees and internal stakeholders;

• Developing accurate and robust financial models;

• Participating in company visits and management presentations;

• Assisting in due diligence processes, which involve gathering and analyzing financial, commercial, legal, and tax data, as well as coordinating advisors and organizing data rooms;

• Producing analyses to assess add-on opportunities for existing portfolio companies;

• Supporting the formulation of value creation plans for newly acquired companies;

• Aiding in the preparation of quarterly LP investor reports.

Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess 3-5 years of relevant experience in investment banking, transaction services, management consulting, or an investment firm, and must be fluent in both German and English. Strong communication, writing, and modeling skills are essential, along with an analytical and commercially driven mindset that enables the understanding of market trends and their implications for a company's strategy and business model. A solid academic background from a reputable university is also required.
Furthermore, the candidate should exhibit a self-assured and balanced personality, capable of evaluating business cases from various perspectives and considering potential solutions in a broader context. An interest in emerging market developments and new technologies, coupled with a curiosity for innovative ideas, is highly valued. The successful candidate will demonstrate collaboration, a strong work ethic, and the ability to present effectively to all levels of management, both internally and externally.
