Carbon Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Carbon Analyst to join our Trading Analysis & Algorithms department at Vattenfall BA Markets. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in providing market insights, analysis, and commercial decision support across all commodity areas.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct in-depth fundamental and quantitative analysis to support traders and develop emissions market trading strategies.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest market and policy developments, identify key drivers and regime shifts, and provide related communication and advice to traders.
- Develop and maintain fundamental and statistical markets models, and interface with supporting functions on business-driven model development and policy analysis.
- Lead and mentor junior analysts, and contribute to the analysis output and commercial success of our business unit.
- Educate traders on relevant emissions market and policy topics.
- Strong academic background with a Master's degree or higher in a relevant quantitative subject.
- 2+ years' experience in emissions market analysis in a commercial or trading environment, with a proven track record.
- Experience with fundamental and quantitative models for the emissions market, and ability to steer business-driven model development and policy analysis.
- Strong network in the market, especially around emissions policy and analysis topics.
- Additional experience with the analysis of voluntary carbon markets and algorithmic trading strategies is advantageous.
- Strong statistical, analytical, and programming skills, ideally in Python.
- Fluency in English, with additional languages advantageous.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate with various internal stakeholders.
- Result-oriented, independent working method with high reliability and readiness to take on responsibility.
- Proactive team player with a willingness to learn.
