Head of Signalling Project Engineering

Your Future Role
As the Project Engineering Manager for Vehicle Integration, you will play a pivotal role in defining and implementing optimized operational strategies for necessary rolling stock modifications. This position is crucial as it involves upgrading vehicles to seamlessly interface with advanced digital systems. Your leadership will be instrumental in ensuring the successful rollout of cutting-edge ETCS and ATO technology across the rail network.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the project engineering managers responsible for signalling projects, including both retrofitting and new builds of ETCS on-board systems.
- Guarantee timely delivery while adhering to budgetary constraints and maintaining high-quality standards for our clients.
- Utilize Alstom's standardized products and deployment processes developed in collaboration with our international teams.
In this role, you will coordinate engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle and serve as the primary technical liaison for our clients. Your internal collaborations will include working closely with Alstom's signalling competence centers located in various countries.
About You
We prioritize passion and a proactive attitude over extensive experience. While we do not expect you to possess every skill, the following qualifications will be advantageous:
- A completed university degree in a technical field such as rail vehicle technology or electrical engineering.
- Several years of experience in technical project management.
- Demonstrated expertise in signalling technology, particularly with PZB, LZB, and ETCS systems.
- Strong persuasive abilities and self-confidence in an international context.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, complemented by a diplomatic approach.
- Fluency in both written and spoken English and German.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.
- Willingness to travel within Europe as required.
