Job Description

Role Summary:

The Financial Accountant will play a key role in supporting the Finance Manager in a hands-on role that directly impacts our financial success. This position is crucial to the continued growth and success of Ascend Advanced Therapies, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Operations:
    • Support month-end closing activities and respond to audit queries, providing necessary documentation and insights.
    • Assist in the preparation of balance sheet account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
    • Assist with Accounts Payable (AP) by processing vendor invoices, ensuring accurate coding, and maintaining compliance with company policies. Manage vendor relationships and handle payments.
    • Ensure Financial Accuracy by reconciling incoming and outgoing payments daily reviewing credit card statements and assisting with bank account reconciliations.
  • Financial Analysis:
    • Work with department heads on cash disbursement approvals and support vendor onboarding.
    • Step in during the Finance Manager's absence to help keep financial operations running smoothly.
  • Financial Reporting:
    • Prepare and review financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Financial Planning:
    • Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and budgets, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.

Requirements:

  • Education:
    • Accounting or business degree or above with an interest to train as an accountant.
    • Actively planning to study, or already committed to study towards an accounting professional qualification such AAT/ CIMA / ACCA or EU equivalent.
  • Skills:
    • Knowledge of double entry accounting to enable accurate input of GL journals.
    • Experience with foreign currency payments is highly desirable.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Ability to communicate with various stakeholders.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft package and general desktop skills.
    • Ability to represent the team and company internally and externally in a professional manner.
    • Ability to accurately record and input financial information.
    • Previous experience in NetSuite is highly desirable.
    • Ability to embrace change.
    • Good organizational skills and time keeping.
  • Language:
    • Fluent in English and German.
