Financial Accountant

You will be instrumental in supporting the month-end process, the preparation of the consolidated management accounts and in the management of the whole AP cycle. Key Accountabilities

• • Support month-end closing activities and respond to audit queries, providing necessary documentation and insights
  • Assist in the preparation of balance sheet account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Assist with Accounts Payable (AP) by processing vendor invoices, ensuring accurate coding, and maintaining compliance with company policies. Manage vendor relationships and handle payments.
  • Ensure Financial Accuracy by reconciling incoming and outgoing payments daily reviewing credit card statements and assisting with bank account reconciliations.
  • Work with department heads on cash disbursement approvals and support vendor onboarding
  • Step in during the Finance Manager’s absence to help keep financial operations running smoothly
  • Other ad hoc duties as requested by the business

Requirements

Experience/Skills

• Knowledge of double entry accounting to enable accurate input of GL journals
• Experience with foreign currency payments is highly desirable
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to communicate with various stakeholders
• Knowledge of Microsoft package and general desktop skills
• Ability to represent the team and company internally and externally in a professional manner
• Ability to accurately record and input financial information
• Previous experience in NetSuite is highly desirable
• Ability to embrace change
• Good organizational skills and time keeping

Education and Training

• Accounting or business degree or above with an interest to train as an accountant.
• Actively planning to study, or already committed to study towards an accounting professional qualification such AAT/ CIMA / ACCA or EU equivalent
• Ascend is able to provide financial support for accountancy qualification and study leave
