Financial Accountant Role at Ascend Advanced Therapies
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our dynamic finance team at Ascend Advanced Therapies. As a key contributor, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Finance Manager in a hands-on role that directly impacts our financial success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Month-End Closing Activities: Assist in the preparation of balance sheet account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Accounts Payable (AP) Management: Process vendor invoices, ensure accurate coding, and maintain compliance with company policies. Manage vendor relationships and handle payments.
- Financial Accuracy: Reconcile incoming and outgoing payments daily, review credit card statements, and assist with bank account reconciliations.
- Cash Disbursement Approvals: Work with department heads on cash disbursement approvals and support vendor onboarding.
- Financial Operations: Step in during the Finance Manager's absence to help keep financial operations running smoothly.
- Ad Hoc Duties: Perform other duties as requested by the business.
Requirements:
- Accounting Knowledge: Knowledge of double entry accounting to enable accurate input of GL journals.
- Foreign Currency Experience: Experience with foreign currency payments is highly desirable.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail.
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate with various stakeholders.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft package and general desktop skills.
- Professional Representation: Ability to represent the team and company internally and externally in a professional manner.
- Financial Information Recording: Ability to accurately record and input financial information.
- Previous Experience: Previous experience in NetSuite is highly desirable.
- Adaptability: Ability to embrace change.
- Organizational Skills: Good organizational skills and time keeping.
Education and Training:
- Accounting or Business Degree: Accounting or business degree or above with an interest to train as an accountant.
- Accountancy Qualification: Actively planning to study, or already committed to study towards an accounting professional qualification such as AAT/CIMA/ACCA or EU equivalent.
- Financial Support: Ascend is able to provide financial support for accountancy qualification and study leave.

- Fluent in English and German: Fluent in English and German.
