Postdoctoral Researchers in Ecological Research

We are seeking highly motivated and experienced ecologists to join our team at Senckenberg Gesellschaft für Naturforschung. As a postdoctoral researcher, you will be part of our Department of River Ecology and Conservation, working closely with our team of scientists to advance our understanding of biodiversity and its dynamics in the face of climate change.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze spatial and temporal biodiversity and environmental data to elucidate spatial patterns and temporal trends in taxonomic and functional diversity and drivers thereof
- Contribute to the research of our MARCO-BOLO and BMD projects, conducting research on global change impacts on biodiversity within the framework of other projects in the department
- Develop Virtual Research Environments (VREs) to facilitate the application of models on available and harmonized biodiversity and environmental data
- Data analysis, preparation of manuscripts and reports, and mentoring graduate students
- PhD in Ecology or a related field
- Solid background in (macro-) ecology and zoology (preferably invertebrates or fish)
- Advanced skills in statistical analyses, preferably using R
- Strong track record of international publications
- Excellent written and oral communication and project presentation skills
