Postdoctoral Researchers in Ecological Research

The Senckenberg Gesellschaft für Naturforschung is seeking enthusiastic ecologists to join its team in the Department of River Ecology and Conservation. As part of a large EU-funded project, the successful candidates will contribute to the research of biodiversity and environmental data in European rivers and lakes.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in community ecology, macroecology, and metacommunities, with advanced skills in statistical analyses using R. A solid track record of international publications and excellent written and oral communication skills are also essential.
The position involves analyzing spatial and temporal biodiversity and environmental data to elucidate spatial patterns and temporal trends in taxonomic and functional diversity and drivers thereof. The successful candidate will also contribute to the development of Virtual Research Environments (VREs) and mentor graduate students.

Job DescriptionResearch Position in River Ecology and ConservationWe are looking for enthusiastic ecologists to join our team in the Department of River Ecology and Conservation. The successful candidates will contribute to the research of biodiversity and environmental data in European rivers and lakes.
- Analyzing spatial and temporal biodiversity and environmental data to elucidate spatial patterns and temporal trends in taxonomic and functional diversity and drivers thereof
- Contribute to the research of the MARCO-BOLO and BMD projects and conduct research on global change impacts on biodiversity within the framework of other projects in the department
- Development of VREs
- Data analysis, preparation of manuscripts and reports
- Mentoring graduate students
