In this position, you will collaborate with a premier team of mechanical, electrical, and software engineers dedicated to the ongoing advancement and refinement of our globally recognized robotic solutions. You will be an integral part of our Product Development Organization, serving as a Senior Principal Development Engineer responsible for the Verification Strategy, Requirement Breakdown, and Specification Formulation for our ongoing robotic initiatives. For us, Verification is not merely the concluding phase before commercialization; this role is a vital contributor during the Concept stage of the project.

Responsibilities

• Formulate and implement a comprehensive and effective Design Verification strategy for product specifications and collaborate with System Engineering to develop, assess, and decompose product requirements.

• Draft or review/approve Design Verification protocols and documentation.

• Champion initiatives and activities that promote robust design, including experimental design, transfer function development, and simulations.

• Lead cross-functional investigations into failures and analyses, representing the development engineering function on extended core teams for product development.

• Mentor both junior and senior development engineers involved in your projects, providing constructive feedback on engineering documentation, verification protocols, and reports.

• Coordinate with Reliability, Compliance, Hardware (Electrical and Mechanical), and Software teams on your projects.

• Assist in the preparation of regulatory submissions for your projects.

• Support Quality Management System (QMS) and/or Design History File (DHF) audits as the subject matter expert for development engineering on those projects and assist with modifications made to your projects post-launch.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree with 10 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in robotics engineering or a related field with 8 years of relevant experience.

• Proficiency in developing products in accordance with System Engineering principles.

• A solid understanding of Regulatory requirements pertaining to Design Controls and Design Verification.

• Industry experience utilizing statistical methods and data analysis for Design Verification.

• Proficiency in English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with robotics or electro-mechanical systems.

• Proven history of contributing to complex medical devices.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Proficiency in German.
