Position Overview
We are seeking a Lead Data Protection Strategist to oversee and refine our Data Protection policies and practices. This role is crucial for ensuring compliance with international Data Protection regulations and requires a candidate with a profound understanding of global Data Protection laws, exceptional discretion in managing sensitive information, and a strategic mindset to implement our Data Protection framework in alignment with corporate compliance objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement robust Data Protection strategies to ensure adherence to global regulations, including GDPR.
- Continuously update the Data Protection framework to incorporate changes in legislation, standards, and global policies.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and Subject Matter Expert on Data Protection, providing guidance on specific cases.
- Communicate regularly with senior management regarding the status, challenges, and developments in the Data Protection landscape.
- Consult with domestic and international subsidiaries on Data Protection matters, facilitating the development of effective solutions.
- Understand business objectives to provide risk-based advice that supports achieving business goals while ensuring compliance.
- Conduct Privacy Assessments and Data Protection Impact Assessments, identifying potential risks and advising on mitigation strategies.
- Draft, maintain, and revise Data Protection policies, ensuring their integration into all relevant business processes and advising on associated risks.
Candidate Profile
- A diploma or Master's degree in law, economics, or a related field.
- 3-6 years of experience in a global corporate environment focused on Data Protection, preferably within the pharmaceutical or healthcare sectors.
- Certification in Data Protection (e.g., CIPP, CIPM) is advantageous.
- Demonstrated experience in managing Data Protection strategies and compliance initiatives.
- In-depth knowledge of domestic and international Data Protection regulations.
- High ethical standards and professional integrity.
- Strong project management and process design capabilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, along with effective communication abilities and experience in conducting training sessions.
