Position Overview

The primary objective of this role is to enhance Cook Medical's presence while driving sales and profitability within the designated region. This will be accomplished by executing tailored sales and marketing initiatives that align with the strategies established by the Regional Manager and support the overarching goals of the Specialty. The Sales Representative is expected to cultivate a comprehensive understanding of the product offerings and their relevant clinical applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve or surpass the sales objectives set by Specialty Management by independently engaging with physicians, hospitals, outpatient facilities, healthcare organizations, purchasing groups, multi-hospital systems, and other critical decision-makers within the assigned territory.
  • Exhibit a profound knowledge of the Specialty's product portfolio and a solid grasp of the related medical field.
  • Deliver expert technical training and support to healthcare professionals regarding the utilization of Cook's medical devices as necessary.
  • Manage the territory budget for local field events and sample inventory.
  • Formulate and maintain an annual business strategy that encompasses:
    • projected sales growth
    • risk assessment
    • sales opportunities
    • anticipated competitive actions
    • contingency strategies
  • Ensure follow-through on customer inquiries and commitments.
  • Monitor and enhance market share and competitor dynamics within the assigned region.
  • Participate in local and international trade shows and conferences as required.
  • Identify, establish, and nurture relationships with key clinical and non-clinical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate effectively with other sales team members and Cook's support functions to deliver optimal service to both customers and patients.
  • Work closely with Cook's Commercial and Business Care Integration teams to explore contractual opportunities with clients and maximize service delivery.
  • Investigate and assess new product concepts, providing necessary information and facilitating ongoing dialogue. Assist in product evaluations and/or clinical trials as appropriate.
  • Adhere to Cook's quality policies and procedures concerning Complaint Handling, Product Returns, Samples, Consignment Stock, and other relevant areas.
  • Comply with all policies outlined in the Cook Employee Handbooks, Cook Code of Conduct, Policy and Guidance on Interaction with Healthcare Professionals, Cook's Privacy Regulations, and all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Employees are also required to sign and adhere to Cook's Confidentiality and Non-Competition Agreements.

Required Qualifications

  • Previous experience in medical sales is preferred.
  • Knowledge of products or procedures is advantageous.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in written and verbal English, along with other relevant languages.
  • Excellent numerical aptitude.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Proven ability to solve problems effectively.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • High level of self-motivation.
