Senior Information Technology Auditor

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
The Senior IT Auditor plays a crucial role within the Global Internal Audit team, focusing on the execution and management of the global information systems (IS) segment of the annual Audit Plan. This position involves the formulation and upkeep of IT-related audit programs while collaborating with various IT departments across the organization. Additionally, the Senior IT Auditor engages in integrated IT audits that complement financial and operational assessments. This role also emphasizes the development of data analytic strategies to enhance the team's analytical capabilities.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identifies and assesses IT risk areas within the organization, contributing significantly to the annual global Audit Plan;
- Plans and conducts comprehensive global IT audits to pinpoint areas for improvement in internal controls, ensuring they effectively meet business requirements across IT infrastructure, systems, applications, security, operations, and processes;
- Executes audit tasks, performing risk and control evaluations to ascertain risks, establish control objectives, and verify the adequacy of control measures in alignment with business goals at various locations;
- Conducts audit procedures to gather sufficient evidence supporting audit findings;
- Reviews access permissions for applications and systems to ensure appropriateness;
- Follows up on audit findings and oversees the entire process until implementation evidence is secured;
- Maintains specific audit programs and adheres to Global Internal Audit standards;
- Supports the internal audit team by extracting data from audited applications/databases and conducting data analytics inquiries;
- Assists in maintaining the audit tool and aids in the selection of a new audit tool in the near future;
- Manages dedicated Knowledge Clusters in the Global Internal Audit Knowledge database related to IT risks;
- Acts as a knowledge resource for colleagues in matters pertaining to IT and general systems and controls;
- Cultivates and maintains strong relationships with IT and business stakeholders through open and frequent communication;
- Pursues opportunities for professional development, including training and memberships in professional associations;
- Performs other duties as assigned.

This position requires the ability to travel domestically and internationally, with travel expectations ranging up to 10-15% annually.
EDUCATION:
- A Bachelor's Degree is required; an Advanced Degree is preferred.
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
- 3–5 years of experience in IT audit or business audit/accounting; experience in healthcare IT audit is preferred.
- Must possess a CISA certification or be prepared to take the CISA exam within one year.
- Familiarity with network security and distributed system environments (including firewalls, network design, Mainframe, Databases, mobile applications, and JAVA-based web services).
- Strong knowledge of SAP and experience in SAP IT audits in accordance with international standards are preferred.
- Ability to translate IT terminology and knowledge into business language.
- Understanding of IT industry standards such as ISO27001, COBIT, and ITIL.
- Knowledge of global data protection and security regulations.
- Capacity to work independently and manage projects with minimal supervision under tight deadlines.
- Excellent analytical, written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to engage with senior management independently.
- Proficiency in English, both spoken and written; knowledge of a second European language (such as German or Spanish) is preferred.
- Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
