Job Overview:

The Innovation Project Manager (m/f/d) is responsible for spearheading digital ventures with an entrepreneurial spirit, guiding them from initial concepts to successful market entries. As a versatile professional, your role encompasses a variety of tasks including value proposition development, business model creation, product innovation, market strategy formulation, operational management, and partnership engagement, tailored to the specific venture focus and your expertise.

Your primary objective is to transform innovative ideas related to travel and mobility into thriving businesses, ultimately launching a comprehensive startup into the marketplace.

At Lufthansa Innovation Hub, you will enjoy significant creative autonomy, operational flexibility, and accountability. You will collaborate within small, agile teams based in our Berlin office (with options for remote work) as part of our New Business initiative.

You will lead a groundbreaking innovation project in the area of ground operations and data, collaborating across various Lufthansa divisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead venture initiatives in Travel & Mobility Technology from concept to successful market exit, ensuring targeted execution and accountability.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee digital products (product management).
  • Guide small, cross-functional teams with a high level of personal autonomy.
  • Coordinate remote teams (e.g., product development, design).
  • Track and achieve project-specific KPIs and milestones.
  • Identify and engage relevant partners (e.g., distribution, media).
  • Foster business development with both internal (Lufthansa Group) and external stakeholders.
  • Facilitate systematic knowledge transfer within LIH and the broader Lufthansa Group organization.

Candidate Profile:

  • Degree in Business, IT, or a related field.
  • Strong entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Minimum of three years of relevant experience in a digital environment.
  • Proven track record in building and scaling new products or services into successful enterprises.
  • Passion for growth startups and the travel and mobility sector.
  • Solid understanding of digital business models, technologies, and the tech ecosystem.
  • Strong business acumen, innovative thinking, and a proactive approach.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with robust project management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as a startup co-founder.
  • Direct or indirect experience in corporate innovation (e.g., management consultancy).
  • Background in travel or mobility sectors.
  • MBA.
  • Proficiency in German.
