Eligibility

Open to external local national applicants residing in Germany.

• This role is classified as a Nonappropriated Fund Position.

Key Responsibilities

The Recreation Coordinator will:

  • Manage the gymnasium's information and equipment check-out services.
  • Provide visitors and participants with information regarding available facilities, equipment, activities, programs, and scheduled events.
  • Maintain an inventory of sports equipment, issue items to authorized users, and perform minor repairs and adjustments as needed.
  • Record attendance for statistical purposes and assist with basic office tasks to support gym operations.
  • Engage in manual tasks related to the indoor and outdoor sports programs, including preparing and maintaining sports fields and grounds.
  • Set up and maintain sporting equipment, including bleachers and sound systems, and ensure the scoreboard is operational during events.
  • Supervise a small team of facility attendants and groundskeepers in the upkeep of sports facilities.
  • Operate transport vehicles and other motorized equipment, ensuring proper maintenance and reporting any technical issues.

Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

Qualifications

Applicants should meet the following educational and experience requirements:

  • C-4: E&T Level I requires one year of relevant experience, including clerical work, computer usage, bookkeeping, and event coordination.
  • Current employees lacking E&T Level I must have two years of relevant experience.
  • E&T Level II and above: No additional experience is necessary.
  • Office automation skills are essential.
  • Language proficiency in both English and German at level C1 is required.

Employment Conditions

• This is a permanent part-time position (10 hours per week) with potential weekend, holiday, and night shifts.

• Candidates must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
