SAP is seeking a highly skilled Data Science Manager to lead our Business AI team in Berlin. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for driving the development of the SAP Foundation Model for structured data embedded in various business applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Applied AI Scientists and Data Engineers to develop and implement AI solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product requirements and ensure timely delivery of high-quality software products
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and excellence in software development
  • Act as a problem solver to address organizational and process challenges, leveraging technical expertise to bridge gaps and streamline operations
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of AI and data engineering trends and apply expertise to improve team performance and product quality

Requirements:

  • PhD or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or relevant disciplines
  • 10+ years of experience working as a Data Scientist or similar roles, with experience in training large deep learning models and working with real-world data
  • Expertise in Foundation and Transformer Models, with a strong understanding of Machine Learning algorithms and techniques, especially in relation to structured data application in business
  • Deep understanding of issues and opportunities of applying Generative AI in a business context
  • Demonstrated exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with responsibilities including setting and achieving team goals, delegating tasks, mentoring team members, and effectively managing and communicating within large, diverse teams
