Role Overview

As a Senior Network Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the system engineering of Rivada's satellite constellation. Your primary responsibility will be to enhance our team by focusing on the planning and architectural design of the constellation's network. You will ensure the system is primed for future functionality while considering the complexities of managing a global communication network. Additionally, you will collaborate with the system operations preparation team within the networking domain.

Key Responsibilities

Your duties will include:

  • Developing IP addressing schemes and MPLS switching plans
  • Implementing various routing protocols
  • Creating simulation scenarios utilizing network simulation software
  • Conducting troubleshooting through network packet analysis
  • Refining and defining requirements for the network design and associated subsystems to ensure comprehensive and consistent scope
  • Collaborating with the network operations preparation team to consolidate operational scenarios
  • Designing network flow diagrams for different operational scenarios
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in a telecommunications environment
  • At least 3 years of experience with MPLS in large network operations
  • Proficiency in MPLS L2 and L3 VPNs, LDP, and MPLS Traffic Engineering
  • Strong knowledge of routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP, as well as Spanning Tree Protocol
  • Experience with Linux operating systems
  • Proficiency in Python programming
  • Familiarity with network simulation tools (e.g., Dynamips, GNS3)
  • Experience with packet analysis tools
  • Basic understanding of mobile networks (LTE and 5G)
  • CCNP certification is a plus
  • Fluency in English
