As a Working Student in the domain of Operations Research, you will collaborate closely with our development team, bridging the gap between quantum computing and operational methodologies. This position offers a unique opportunity to apply your theoretical knowledge in a practical setting, directly influencing the success of pioneering projects.
Key Responsibilities- Investigate potential applications of quantum computing within operational research across diverse sectors.
- Assess the applicability of operational research solutions for large-scale industrial implementations.
- Research and apply classical heuristic algorithms to address optimization challenges in internal projects.
- Compile and present clear reports and visualizations to effectively communicate insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Contribute to the creation of tools and software aimed at solving optimization issues, utilizing your programming expertise and understanding of relevant technologies.
- Currently enrolled at a German university, pursuing a bachelor’s (minimum 3 semesters), master’s, or PhD in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
- Strong foundation in mathematics, particularly in optimization techniques, linear algebra, heuristic algorithms, and probability theory.
- Proficient in Python programming, with a basic understanding of algorithm development.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strong attention to detail and a capacity for critical and creative thinking.
- Effective communication skills, capable of articulating complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
