We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Operations Researcher to join our team at Kipu Quantum, a leading quantum computing startup. As an Operations Researcher in Quantum Computing, you will be part of our development team and work at the intersection of quantum computing and operational research, leveraging your skills in mathematical modeling, and optimization algorithms.
Key Responsibilities- Identify applications of quantum computing in operational research for various industry sectors, including finance, insurance, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, automotive, and logistics.
- Estimate the relevance of operational research solutions in large-scale industrial applications.
- Explore and implement classical heuristic algorithms to solve optimization problems in internal proof of concept projects.
- Prepare clear and concise reports and visualizations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including senior management.
- Contribute to the development of tools and software solutions to solve optimization problems, leveraging your programming skills and understanding of relevant technologies.
- You are a student enrolled at a German university, pursuing a bachelor's (> 3 Semester), master's, or PhD degree in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Strong mathematical background with knowledge of optimization techniques, linear algebra, heuristic algorithms, and probability theory.
- Proficiency in programming in Python, with experience and basics of algorithm development.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to think critically and creatively.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Enthusiasm for quantum computing and its potential applications in solving real-world problems.
