Lead Financial Accountant for Group Reporting

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of consolidated financial statements for the EMEA sub-group at month-end and year-end, ensuring compliance with IFRS and German GAAP (HGB).
  • Conduct analytical reviews of consolidated financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and trend analyses, while liaising with individual entities.
  • Generate monthly group reporting for the EMEA sub-group.
  • Oversee monthly intercompany reconciliations within the EMEA region and with the Goodbaby Group.
  • Maintain close communication and collaboration with Group Finance to ensure adherence to accounting standards across EMEA entities.
  • Execute impairment tests for goodwill in accordance with IFRS and assess carrying amounts for financial investments under German GAAP (HGB).
  • Enhance accounting processes and implement robust financial controls.
  • Assist in the accurate accounting for mergers and acquisitions within the EMEA sub-group.
  • Evaluate and optimize existing workflows and tools, focusing on further digitalization and automation, and their integration into the SAP HANA IT landscape.

Qualifications:

  • A completed degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in financial reporting and group accounting, preferably in an international context.
  • Thorough understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and the German Commercial Code (HGB).
  • Experience in performing analytical reviews of consolidated financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and trend analyses.
  • Proficient in preparing monthly reports for corporate structures, ideally for EMEA regions.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with financial auditors, individual entities, and the group finance department.
  • Experience in conducting impairment tests for goodwill under IFRS and for financial investments under HGB.
  • Proven track record in enhancing accounting processes and implementing financial controls.
  • Familiarity with SAP HANA in financial reporting and management.
  • Fluency in English and German, both written and spoken.
