Your Future Role
The Structuring and Valuation team at RWE Supply & Trading GmbH (RWEST) is integral in delivering quantitative analysis for trading and asset optimization. Our work spans a diverse array of commercial activities across multiple commodities and asset classes, including power, industrial metals, renewable energy, and battery storage. Our responsibilities include data engineering, asset assessment, commercial optimization, and the formulation of model-driven trading strategies within energy markets.

  • Assisting in the formulation of business cases for Renewable and Hydrogen asset portfolios (Wind, Solar), as well as for commodity contract portfolios such as gas and electricity options, spread options for markets like the US or Australia.
  • Contributing to the establishment of financial valuation frameworks for these assets and contract portfolios.
  • Participating in the comprehensive framework design process, which includes acquisition, data analysis, model selection and calibration, product valuation and management, along with the visualization and communication of findings.

Your Essential Skills

  • Pursuing a degree in mathematics, physics, natural sciences, IT, or economics with a focus on finance.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical abilities are crucial.
  • Proficiency in programming, preferably in R, Python, and SQL.
  • Capacity to work autonomously while effectively collaborating in a results-driven team environment.
  • Excellent command of both spoken and written English.

Desirable, but Not Required

  • Some practical experience with financial markets and/or familiarity with energy commodity markets.
