About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Procurement Specialist to join our team at h&z. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for leading procurement projects and initiatives, developing and implementing procurement strategies, and providing expert advice to clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead procurement projects and initiatives, including developing and implementing procurement strategies, conducting market research, and analyzing data and facts.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and suppliers, providing expert advice and guidance on procurement-related matters.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements, optimize procurement operations, and drive business growth.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of procurement team members.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements, applying this knowledge to drive business success.

Requirements

  • Master's degree from a well-known university.
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in a team of a management consultancy specialized in purchasing and/or in the purchasing department of an international, market-leading company, ideally with project experience.
  • Basic purchasing understanding and experience in commodity group management, commodity group strategy, material cost reduction, negotiations, or supplier days.
  • Initial experience in the areas of target operating model, sustainability, digitalization, or resilience in purchasing is desirable.
  • Knowledge of one or more indirect or direct commodity groups is also helpful.
  • Fluency in German and English.
  • Strong analytical and structured way of thinking and working, with a good feel for situations and people.
