For our department focused on Exploration, we are seeking a qualified candidate for the position of:


Lead Power Systems Engineer (f/m/d) for Grid Integration of Power Electronic Converters


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement control strategies for the integration of power electronic converters into the grid.
  • Prepare technical documentation, research papers, and intellectual property related to power electronic converter control.
  • Develop automated code, dynamic link libraries (DLLs), and application programming interfaces (APIs) based on your control strategies.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers in the team.
  • Create interfaces and scripts utilizing MATLAB for enhanced functionality.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across various domains including tools, backend, frontend, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), VHDL, and embedded systems.
  • Draft requirement specifications to ensure project alignment.
  • Utilize contemporary lifecycle management and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) methodologies.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in control engineering, electrical engineering, or energy technology with extensive expertise in grid integration of power electronic converters.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of grid feeding, grid forming, and compliance with grid codes.
  • Familiarity with power electronics configurations, modular multilevel converters, and medium/high voltage applications is essential.
  • Understanding of resonant converters, dual active bridge (DAB), and on-board chargers (OBC) is advantageous.
  • Strong grasp of system and software architecture principles.
  • Proficient in MATLAB/Simulink for simulation and modeling tasks.
  • Experience with lifecycle management tools such as Integrity, Doors, and Atlassian, along with version control systems.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal; proficiency in another European language is a plus.
