We are in search of an Import Supply Specialist (Asia) with a solid background in import logistics, particularly within Asian markets, to become a key member of our proactive Supply Planning team.
In this position, you will oversee the replenishment of warehouse inventory, engage with primary Metro Suppliers in Asia, formulate inventory replenishment strategies for our Own Brands, enhance replenishment tools and methodologies, mitigate supply chain risks, and monitor and optimize inventory levels. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams and third-party service providers to ensure alignment of supply chain strategies with business goals.
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing the monthly replenishment cycle (planning and processing supply orders), including container logistics management, optimizing routes and resources to reduce costs and enhance efficiency. Tracking orders from Asia to Europe, ensuring prompt delivery and compliance with quality standards while coordinating deliveries with relevant business priorities. Ensuring effective stock management and maximizing product availability through regular analysis of SKU turnover, addressing excessive stock, and proactively recommending actionable solutions. Generating reports to assess and enhance supplier performance and product availability. Collaborating with key internal and external stakeholders across the Supply Chain and related departments such as Warehousing, Demand Planning, Commercial, Marketing, and IT to streamline operations and boost overall supply chain efficiency. Overseeing processes related to container deliveries, including claims and customs clearance. Coordinating orders based on opportunistic buying and selling activities in collaboration with the Commercial department. Analyzing data and performance metrics to pinpoint areas for improvement and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Playing a crucial role in refining existing Supply Chain processes and taking ownership of projects aimed at optimizing systems and collaboration within the Metro Markets Supply Chain and with primary Metro Suppliers in Asia. Preparing instructions and procedures for process standardization and optimization.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related discipline. Proven experience in supply chain management, with a strong emphasis on coordinating orders from Asia to Europe. Demonstrated expertise in container logistics and planning, with the capability to optimize routes and resources effectively. Strong interpersonal skills with excellent communication and negotiation abilities, capable of fostering and maintaining relationships with stakeholders at all levels. Familiarity with customs clearance processes, preferably in the context of importing goods from Asia into Europe. Proficiency in relevant software and tools, including ERP systems and logistics management platforms (advanced MS Excel is essential). Knowledge of Power BI and other technical skills is advantageous. Comfort in handling large volumes of data, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy in numerical analysis. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while effectively managing multiple priorities. High level of ownership and comprehensive thinking. Experience in establishing, monitoring, and reporting KPIs. Fluency in English (both oral and written) is essential.What We Offer:
