About the Position

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Scientist to join our team at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ). The successful candidate will work in the Genomic Epidemiology Group, investigating the relationship between human genetic variability and susceptibility to cancer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research on the role of germline genetic variability in cancer risk and prognosis
  • Participate in genome-wide association studies and lead studies on specific genes and genomic regions
  • Manage databases and biobanks, and supervise data analysis and labwork
Requirements
  • Master's and doctoral degree or equivalent in genetics, epidemiology or related disciplines
  • Proven experience in genetic epidemiology research, documented by publication record
  • Ability to work well in an international team and with external collaborators
  • Fluency in English is required
  • Knowledge in statistics and/or bioinformatics is a very desirable asset
