Research Scientist/PhD Student (m/w/d) in Model-Driven Digital Twin Development
Digital twins promise a better understanding and more efficient use of cyber-physical systems, which are intended to make it easier to reconfigure, optimize, and use resources more efficiently. There is a wide range of digital twins, from high-precision engineering models to software systems that represent, control, and provide higher-value services for other systems.
In the development of digital twins, many design decisions and implementation activities must be made, which can be derived from the engineering models of the represented system. Within this project, new concepts and methods for deriving digital twins will be explored.

Your future areas of focus:
- Exploring new concepts and methods that reduce the gap between engineering models and active digital twins
- Designing new technologies for configuring and operating active digital twins
- Applying the concepts, methods, and results with a variety of demonstrators

Your profile:
- Studies in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field with good grades
- Knowledge in model-based software development (e.g. UML, SysML,...)
- Interest in interdisciplinary collaboration between computer science and mechanical engineering
- Good communication skills in German for exchange with industrial partners
