Test Automation Engineer

In the Global Banking division at SumUp, we are developing the essential infrastructure and core services required to provide our merchants with a digital banking solution that empowers them to thrive in their endeavors. As our global banking platform expands, so does the range of features we support and the technological landscape on which it is built.
Consequently, we are looking for Software Development Engineers in Test (SDET) to join our team. You will work collaboratively across the Global Banking division to enhance software quality through automated testing methodologies. Shape our testing strategy, create test suites, identify quality deficiencies, and integrate automated tests from mobile user interfaces to data layers. Assist us in accelerating delivery while upholding a high standard of quality.
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute comprehensive testing strategies for agile teams, ensuring software dependability. Regularly review teams' testing strategies and implementations - from the quality of test scenarios to the accuracy of test reports. Aid engineers in designing, testing, and continuously refining software products for optimal performance. Embed testing methodologies and practices within teams, promoting a culture of quality assurance. Create unit, automated component, contract, integration, and end-to-end tests. Provide comprehensive support for performance and load testing, including workload modeling, test execution, and results evaluation. Collaborate closely with software and DevOps engineers for smooth deployment and continuous integration. Utilize metrics to pinpoint areas for enhancement and guide engineers with actionable insights. Assist in maintaining test suites, build pipelines, and test data.Ideal Candidate:
Proficient in programming with any language (e.g., Kotlin, Python, JavaScript, Go, Elixir, Java, Ruby). Experienced in mobile automation with coding capabilities. Familiar with managing build pipelines, integrating tests, and working with Continuous Deployment. Knowledgeable in developing on a microservices architecture with strong test architecture design skills. Proficient with Git, design patterns, Docker containers, Kubernetes, and the AWS ecosystem. Familiarity with Grafana and Honeycomb is advantageous. Solid understanding of relational databases. Takes ownership of all deliverables and values teamwork and collaboration.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the fintech sector. Familiarity with Kafka. Knowledge of PostgreSQL. Experience with GitHub Actions. Background in mobile test automation.Why Join SumUp?
