About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Software Development Engineer in Test to join our Global Bank team at SumUp. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in shaping our test strategy, building test packs, and integrating automated tests from mobile UI to data tier.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and implement robust testing strategies for stream-aligned squads, ensuring software reliability.
  • Audit squads' testing strategies and implementation, from the quality of scenarios to the reliability of test reports.
  • Support engineers in designing, testing, and improving software products for high availability.
  • Integrate testing methodologies and practices within teams, fostering a culture of quality assurance.
  • Write unit, automated component, contract, integration, and end-to-end tests.
  • Provide end-to-end support for performance and load testing, including workload modeling, test execution, and results analysis.
  • Collaborate closely with software and DevOps engineers for seamless deployment and continuous integration.
  • Utilize metrics to identify areas for improvement and guide engineers with actionable steps.
  • Assist in maintaining test suites, build pipelines, and test data.

Requirements

  • Solid programming experience in any language (e.g., Kotlin, Python, JavaScript, Go, Elixir, Java).
  • Experience with mobile automation and creating robust automated testing frameworks.
  • Experience with performance and load testing, including workload modeling, test execution, and results analysis.
  • Experience managing build pipelines, integrating tests, and working with Continuous Deployment.
  • Experience developing on a microservice architecture with good test architecture design skills.
  • Proficiency with Git, design patterns, Docker containers, Kubernetes, and the AWS ecosystem.
  • Solid knowledge of relational databases.

  • Experience in the fintech industry.
  • Knowledge of Kafka.
  • Knowledge of PostgreSQL.
  • GitHub Actions experience.
  • Experience with mobile test automation.
