Senior Financial Accountant with German Language Expertise

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Accountant with German language expertise to join our team at Corpay. As a key member of our Finance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our financial data, while also providing expert guidance on German accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the accounting team in producing statutory accounts for Plugsurfing entities within tight deadlines
- Ensure full tax compliance in your responsibility areas, including VAT in multiple VAT registrations
- Develop and maintain accounting processes to meet company targets and compliance requirements
- Participate in audit activities and development projects, providing expert guidance on German accounting standards
- Support the Finance team with ad-hoc analysis and reporting as needed
Requirements
- Fluent in German (C1-C2 level) both in written and oral forms
- Fluent in English (at least B2 level)
- Experienced Financial Accountant with a proven history of delivering accurate and compliant accounting performance
- Mastery of German GAAP and a good understanding of different accounting standards (e.g. US GAAP, IFRS, Dutch GAAP, etc)
- Strong accounting skills and a can-do attitude with attention to detail
- Advanced user of Dynamics D365
- Good understanding of German direct (CiT) and indirect (VAT) taxation, with a strong plus for international VAT experience
- Strong tolerance to uncertainty and adaptation to a quickly changing work environment, with the ability to make decisions quickly without all the information
