Innovative Security Engineer for Maritime Infrastructures

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Security Engineer to join our team at the Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR) in Bremerhaven. As a key member of our Institute for the Protection of Maritime Infrastructures, you will play a crucial role in developing innovative methods for hazard prevention and risk management in maritime environments.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research and development of security assessment methods, focusing on safety and hazard prevention for maritime critical infrastructures (CRITIS)
- Design and implement solutions for decision-making and leadership support for authorities and organizations with security responsibilities (BOS) in the context of maritime CRITIS
- Collaborate with end-users to test and validate technologies and methods
- Participate in interdisciplinary projects with national and international research and user groups
- Publish and present research results in professional journals and conferences
- Master's degree in engineering (e.g. safety/rescue/economic/electrical/mechanical engineering, industrial/process/systems engineering), natural sciences (e.g. mathematics, physics), political science, or other relevant fields of study
- Experience in project management and implementation of third-party projects is desirable
- Knowledge of BOS structures and their roles in hazard prevention, ideally in the context of critical infrastructures, is advantageous
