Job Title: Senior Big Data Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Big Data Architect to join our team at WEPA. As a key member of our digital innovation centre, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining complex data architectures.

About the Role:
  • Design and develop large-scale data solutions, including data lakes, SQL databases, and big data infrastructures.
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  • Lead the integration and management of streaming analytics platforms, such as Kafka and Apache Flink.
  • Promote the use and optimization of Cosmos DB and related database systems.
  • Use business intelligence tools to transform data into actionable business insights.
  • Drive the company's data strategy within the Azure cloud environment.
  • Implement and promote best practices in data architecture and technology.
  • Work in an agile environment with cross-functional teams to fulfill data-related requirements.
  • Collaborate on a variety of digital technology projects, including Industry 4.0 and Robotic Process Automation.
About You:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in data architecture or a similar role.
  • Demonstrated success in designing and rolling out large-scale data solutions.
  • Prior experience with Azure Cloud is essential.
  • Fluent in English and German.
  • Mastery in SQL and Python, with a solid grasp of Cosmos DB and related database systems.
  • Expertise in data modeling and architecture.
  • Proven ability to translate business needs into technical action plans.
  • Comprehensive understanding of big data ecosystems, including data lakes and streaming analytics.
  • Practical experience with Kafka, Apache Flink, and other data streaming platforms.
  • In-depth familiarity with Azure Cloud and its suite of data services.
  • Strong proponent of agile methodologies and practices.
  • Commitment to staying updated with the latest trends and best practices in the data domain.
