Data Center Operations Manager

Job OverviewThe Manager, Chief Engineer will oversee a team of Critical Facility Technicians (CFTs) in the Site Operations Department. This role is responsible for managing workflow, work order management, training plans, event management, customer communications, hiring, and performance management of the CFT team.
Key Responsibilities- Manage daily operations and administration of engineering and operations functions at the facility.
- Hold employees accountable for preventive and corrective maintenance of facility equipment.
- Understand engineering and operational aspects of building systems and recognize performance deficiencies.
- Encourage a team-oriented environment through positive feedback.
- Manage contracted service work, including scope development, bidding, and administration.
- Train CFTs in new processes and procedures.
- Direct and maintain the site-specific preventive maintenance and work order program.
- Oversee project execution and quality.
- Author After-Action Reviews (AARs).
- Evaluate system performance and suggest cost-effective improvements.
- Ensure availability of tools and supplies.
- Protect and improve asset value.
- Organize administrative functions, including work orders and maintenance activities.
- Assist with budget preparation.
- Ensure major projects are properly planned, executed, and closed out.
- Oversee contractor activities.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Profound expertise in mission-critical infrastructure installations.
- Experience in facility/plant engineering and maintenance supervision.
- Direct managerial experience and interpersonal skills.
- Proven record of excellent internal and external customer service.
- Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written reports.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, and building automation systems.
