About Our Client: Our Client specializes in acquiring and scaling profitable enterprises across the United States and Europe. They are in search of a Data Engineering Team Lead to become part of a top-tier, comprehensive Data Engineering organization.Position/Main Responsibilities:
As a Data Engineering Team Lead, your responsibilities will include:
- Leading a team of Data Engineers while collaborating closely with Software Development Engineers (SDEs), Analytics Engineers (AEs), and Infrastructure Engineers (IEs).
- Creating a modular and adaptable data engineering framework that allows for continuous iterative enhancements.
- Serving various departments, including eCommerce, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, Investment, and Legal.
- Developing data products that support all facets of the business.
- Designing and constructing data models and infrastructure in partnership with Analytics and Infrastructure Engineering teams.
- Engaging in hands-on development of data engineering components utilizing innovative tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and technical direction to the Data Engineering team.
- Collaborate with multiple engineering teams within the technology department.
- Prioritize continuous improvement of the data engineering infrastructure.
- Recognize data as a strategic asset and develop data products accordingly.
- Design and implement data models and infrastructure.
- Participate in hands-on development within the data engineering domain.
Basic Qualifications:
- 6+ years of practical experience in Data Engineering, including roles such as Lead Data Engineer or Senior Data Engineer.
- 3+ years of leadership experience managing a team of Data Engineers.
- Expertise in integrating raw datasets from various sources and crafting flexible data models.
- 4+ years of experience with Multi-Cloud Data Platform Technologies (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure).
- 3+ years of experience with Google Cloud Platform, including Big Query and related services.
- Proficiency in creating automation and ETL pipelines using Python or other programming languages.
- Extensive collaboration experience with software developers and analytics engineers.
- Strong background in data modeling, ETL development, and data warehousing.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with business users, technical teams, and senior leadership.
- Capability to manage multiple competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
- Experience in defining data architectures and designing Data Warehouse dimensional models.
- Expertise in constructing and delivering complex, modular data systems with documented interfaces.
- Knowledge of NoSQL and In-Memory Databases is advantageous.
- Familiarity with data engineering best practices, coding standards, and lifecycle processes.
