Job Description

Crytek is seeking a highly skilled Lead VFX Artist to join our Hunt: Showdown team. As a key member of our art team, you will be responsible for leading the day-to-day management of the VFX team and ensuring the delivery of high-quality visual effects.

Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Lead the VFX team and work closely with the Art Director to set goals, objectives, and priorities.
  • Project Management: Manage the VFX team's workload, ensure timely delivery, and maintain open communication with other departments.
  • Artistic Direction: Collaborate with the Art Director to define and enforce industry-leading working practices and structure for the project.
  • Technical Expertise: Develop and implement real-time particle systems, textures, and materials in CRYENGINE.
  • Mentorship: Supervise and mentor junior VFX artists to improve their skills and knowledge.
  • Documentation: Write technical documentation to ensure knowledge sharing and consistency within the team.
Requirements
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in game development, with a strong background in visual effects.
  • Technical Skills: Expert knowledge of 3ds Max, Maya, or Blender, Photoshop, Substance Designer, and CRYENGINE.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven experience in team leadership, project management, and interpersonal communication.
  • Artistic Skills: Strong understanding of visual effects, art direction, and storytelling.
  • Portfolio: A portfolio or reel that demonstrates your technical and artistic skills, including real-time particle FX, technical breakdowns, and strong artistic skills.
