Position OverviewThe Manufacturing Engineer will spearhead optimization projects, implement effective work methodologies, and enhance EHS and Quality standards. This role involves managing technology transfers and representing Manufacturing in product and process development to facilitate production efficiency. Collaboration with Product Development, Sourcing, and assembly subcontractors is essential to uphold AEG PS standards.
Key Responsibilities- Drive industrialization initiatives by integrating Design for Manufacturing principles across our product offerings, under the guidance of our Global Industrialization Leader.
- Design efficient plant layouts, optimize material flow, and standardize manufacturing processes to promote tool harmonization.
- Create comprehensive standard operating procedures, work instructions, and key performance indicators (KPIs), benchmarking against industry best practices.
- Conduct in-depth assessments of efficiency and productivity to refine standard work procedures.
- Maintain stringent Quality and EHS standards throughout all operations.
- Improve information flow and product traceability to streamline processes.
- Contribute significantly to new product development, ensuring a smooth transition from design to manufacturing.
- Work closely with assembly subcontractors to standardize practices, enhance efficiency, and reduce costs.
- Define material flows and establish seamless interfaces between subcontractors and AEG PS facilities.
- Collaborate with Sourcing and producers on make-or-buy decisions, ensuring new product developments meet quality benchmarks and timelines.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering or a related discipline; a Master's degree is advantageous.
- Demonstrated experience in manufacturing engineering, ideally within the power electronics sector.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control techniques, and continuous improvement strategies.
- Proficiency in CAD software and familiarity with product lifecycle management (PLM) tools.
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of regulatory and safety standards pertinent to the power electronics industry is a plus.
