In this role, you will play a crucial part in driving strategic initiatives by engaging early in the Advanced Development & Product Development Lifecycle Maintenance (PDLM) projects.
Your contributions will focus on implementing innovative supplier solutions aimed at enhancing cost efficiency, quality assurance, and risk management, while also supporting the industrialization process with suppliers and facilitating the transition of projects to Manufacturing & Sustaining.
You will work in close collaboration with Research & Development (HW & SW), Product Industrialization, Supplier Quality, and Marketing teams to establish clear specifications and requirements, ensuring the selection and development of the most suitable suppliers and solutions for the patient monitors produced on-site.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute sourcing strategies for New Product Introduction (NPI) projects utilizing the Innovation to Market (I2M) Planner to meet project objectives related to cost, quality, risk, and total cost of ownership (TCO). Collaborate with Procurement to compile and present sourcing grid details for the NPI Bill of Materials (BoM) to the Sourcing Board for decision-making. Organize early supplier innovation sessions to integrate suppliers into the product innovation cycle at an early stage. Influence R&D initiatives and incorporate supplier innovations into products to optimize offerings and maximize value for Philips and its customers. Engage suppliers in project BoM Requests for Proposals (RFPs) using Ariba e-RFQ. Create innovative solutions aimed at simplifying, standardizing, or platforming components or assemblies across the HPM EHM portfolio. Lead the Product Sourcing Swim Lane within PDLM, ensuring that deliverables and targets are met regarding cost, quality, and risk. Identify and develop opportunities for product cost reduction and quality enhancement, entering them into the savings funnel. Conduct product teardown or reverse engineering activities to gather market insights.Team Collaboration
You will be part of the Product Sourcing Engineering (PSE) team, collaborating with suppliers globally. This position involves working with a motivated cross-functional project team, as well as global procurement and commodity teams. You will report to the HPM PSE Leader.
Required Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent, with a solid understanding of technical and engineering principles. Experience in Electronic Engineering is preferred. At least 5 years of strategic sourcing experience, including procurement and category/commodity management. Proven change leadership capabilities within a complex, global matrix organization. Strong project management skills to achieve strategic sourcing goals. Experience in a production environment, particularly in the automotive or medical sectors, with familiarity in medical devices being advantageous. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. A results-oriented mindset with strong business acumen. A proactive attitude, capable of working under pressure to deliver impactful results. Strong analytical and independent problem-solving skills. Ability to work autonomously under pressure, demonstrating self-motivation and a performance-driven approach. Proficiency in English is required, with the ability to communicate in German being an asset. Familiarity with various IT applications (e.g., PowerBI, Windchill, BOMcheck, SAP, MS Office) is beneficial.Benefits
