Product Sourcing Engineer (m/f/d)

Job Overview

The Product Sourcing Engineer plays a crucial role in procurement throughout the product development cycle, from inception to market launch. This position is vital for ensuring early supplier engagement, achieving material cost objectives, and adhering to sourcing schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieving material cost objectives while ensuring timely sourcing
  • Managing Requests for Information (RFI) and Requests for Quotation (RFQ), tracking and reporting on material cost progress and timelines
  • Facilitating design-to-cost initiatives, conducting cost workshops, and implementing cost reduction strategies
  • Assisting in the product change management process during and post-launch
  • Conducting sourcing activities aligned with the global procurement strategy
  • Aiding in the identification and onboarding of new suppliers
  • Driving cost efficiency for ongoing projects within a designated product category

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant Technical or Commercial field
  • Over 3 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or category management within a large multinational organization
  • Proven experience in supplier management, R&D collaboration, or commodity management
  • Industry experience in Medical, Automotive, or Aerospace sectors is preferred
  • Familiarity with various technologies such as molding, extrusion, precision metals, and electronics
  • Knowledge of diverse supplier technologies and processes
  • In-depth understanding of long-term cost drivers for assigned products or categories
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Proficient in German language skills
