As the Capital Goods Category Lead, you will take charge of managing expenditures within the domains of Machinery & Equipment, Infrastructure, and Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) across a network of over 40 production facilities globally, overseeing a segment of the total global spend amounting to €220 million. This role functions as an individual contributor, reporting directly to the Global Category Lead for FMC. You will collaborate with local procurement teams as needed to align resources, and contribute to the formulation and execution of category strategies, project designs, and implementations. Your responsibilities will include defining and driving the execution of strategic initiatives for the assigned categories, ensuring alignment with the production plants, functions, and the Global Category Lead. You will coordinate your strategic direction with key stakeholders and clients. A primary focus will be on continuously identifying opportunities to deliver sustainable financial and non-financial value within the assigned category, ensuring effectiveness in the short, medium, and long term. To achieve this, you will establish effective engagement plans with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers (existing and potential) in the designated category. You will be recognized as a leading expert in Capital Goods sourcing within FMC, maintaining a current understanding of the Capital Goods supply market, including supplier dynamics, cost factors, supply drivers, innovation, and sustainability initiatives.Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all strategic and certain tactical activities for the assigned category across the respective regions. Provide global oversight for the category and its suppliers, with a focus on low-cost country sourcing. Negotiate, implement, and manage contracts within the assigned (sub-) categories, aligning with business line objectives and collaborating closely with management. Develop and execute global category strategies and objectives tailored to each region, under the guidance of the Global Category Lead and supported by local procurement management. Monitor and assess market conditions affecting the assigned category, determining appropriate actions to safeguard FMC from potential changes. Engage key stakeholders for strategic input and align category strategies accordingly. Drive the supplier selection and development process in collaboration with other functions. Involve key suppliers in innovation initiatives. Initiate and implement cost-reduction strategies related to the assigned commodities. Coordinate tactical procurement processes, including RfQ, negotiations, and finalizing agreements for the assigned categories.Qualifications:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in Global Category Management within a manufacturing, multinational organization. Alternatively, 5 years of experience in Global Manufacturing Engineering coupled with experience in Global Category Management within a manufacturing, multinational company. Proven experience in Best Cost Country Sourcing. Strong strategic and tactical procurement skills. Excellent technical and methodological expertise. Strong leadership and communication abilities. Proficient understanding of material and production technologies. Strong interpersonal skills. High emotional and social intelligence. Negotiation skills. Solid knowledge of manufacturing technologies. Ability to interpret and understand machine documentation (3D, 2D, BOM, etc.). Capability to comprehend third-party single component technical documentation. Basic understanding of machine and process validation.
