Position Overview:
The Network Administrator role is critical in ensuring the integrity and security of network operations within our organization. This position involves managing various network infrastructures, including NIPRNet and SIPRNet, and requires a proactive approach to implementing network enhancements and expansions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and secure network operations, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Collaborate with system and security teams to identify network requirements and address security issues.
- Monitor network traffic and develop tailored solutions for complex network environments.
- Provide Tier III support to resolve advanced network issues affecting operational efficiency.
- Deliver expertise in network management tools and provide technical training to support staff.
- Engage with vendors for the design and implementation of new network systems.
- Participate in procurement processes and maintain necessary certifications to meet evolving operational requirements.
Qualifications for Success:
- Education: High School Diploma/GED with 8+ years of relevant experience, or higher education with corresponding experience.
- Security Clearance Level Required: DoD Secret security clearance required; Top Secret clearance preferred.
- Required Certifications: CCNA or equivalent industry certification; IAT Level II certification or higher as per DOD M requirements.
- Required Skills and Experience: Proven experience with Cisco ISE, Firepower Management Center, and other network management tools. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment.
- Preferred Qualifications: Advanced certifications such as CCNP or higher, and experience with advanced networking concepts.
Work Environment: This position is based onsite and may require availability for shift work, including weekends and holidays, depending on mission needs.
