Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Associate Director to join our team in Berlin and Frankfurt, Germany. As a key member of our data centre sector team, you will play a critical role in driving growth and delivering existing and upcoming data centre schemes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and maintain exceptional safety, quality, cost, programme, sustainability, and governance standards
  • Develop and implement programme delivery environments, including people, organisation, process, information, and technology
  • Improve performance from the bid baseline by optimising resources and monitoring, reviewing, and evaluating activities, systems, and methodologies
  • Define the relationship ownership and be the primary contact for Mace BUD engagement
  • Direct and maintain exceptional safety, quality, cost, programme, sustainability, governance, risk, stakeholder management, and programme compliance standards
  • Ensure focus on delivering programme benefits and outcomes
  • Maintain programme documentation, including process and procedures, plans, reports, registers, and lessons learned
  • Create a high-performing and inclusive team environment that encourages contribution and recognition
  • Engender, promote, and influence quality and service excellence in all conversations and programme interactions
  • Ensure the programme operates an effective risk management strategy with appropriate management actions and risk treatments established
  • Proactively convey and connect the wider business strategy to the programme team and promote the associated initiatives
  • Network and utilise the full depth and knowledge of the Mace group and centres of excellence to support programme delivery
  • Ensure operations are commercially viable, influencing the achievement of business objectives (including debt collection) and meeting organisational and legislative compliance obligations
  • Build and maintain internal and external relationships (e.g. clients, contractors, consultancies, and other stakeholders) to foster growth and increase networks
  • Adapt the full benefits of construction to production (C2P), net zero carbon, and digital & data innovation
  • Promote Mace's value of safety first, exhibiting visible safety behaviours, sharing lessons learned, and using safetymoments and Mace's HSW framework
  • Support the safety and wellbeing of all Mace staff
  • Manage several senior managers, managers, and assistant managers
  • Work collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work
Requirements
  • Experienced in delivery of complex industrial, manufacturing, and data centre environments
  • Professional membership (e.g. MRICS/RICS or equivalent) and moving towards fellowship, or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development
  • Deep property or infrastructure project management expertise
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen
  • Leadership and management experience of large, diverse teams
  • Experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders
  • Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on
