Job Title: Associate Director

At Mace, we are seeking an experienced Associate Director to lead our Project Management Office (PMO) and Project Controls team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality project management services to our clients and ensuring the successful execution of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the implementation and delivery of PMO and Project Controls services to support commissions and provide line management leadership and guidance for other disciplines within the PMO and Planning Centre of Excellence.
  • Develop and maintain effective PMO and Project Controls frameworks and strategies to ensure compliance with Mace's values and standards.
  • Provide expert knowledge and guidance on PMO and Project Controls tools, techniques, and software to ensure best-in-class service delivery.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify and implement opportunities for improved working practices and service excellence.
  • Lead and direct the development and implementation of project management plans, including cost, schedule, change, risk, and reporting.
  • Ensure all activities and operations are carried out in line with Mace's Control Centre, client requirements, and prevailing legislation.
  • Provide line management to more junior PMO and Project Controls resources and other project/programme staff as required.
  • Mentor and develop junior members of the PMO and Project Control team to ensure their growth and development.
Requirements:
  • Significant experience of effective PMO and Project Controls leadership on significant construction projects and management consultancy.
  • Expert knowledge of PMO and Project Controls tools, techniques, and software, including MS Office and Power BI, Aconex, Primavera P6, and Risk Hive.
  • Ability to manage activities with significant uncertainty of solution or outcome.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of tools, techniques, and software that interfaces with the risk discipline, including Primavera Risk Analyser and Active Risk Manager.
  • Practical knowledge of Power BI and other reporting suite tools.
  • Strong understanding of construction projects, decencies, and interfaces within the project lifecycle and management consultancy.
  • Deep domain knowledge of providing PMO and Project Controls leadership in multiple sectors, including rail, highways, nuclear, public sector, and hospitals.
  • Chartered status (or equivalent) and/or membership of a relevant professional institution, such as the Association of Project Managers.
